We are always looking to utilise tools that improve efficiencies for our customers’ work and our own. It was this mindset that influenced our decision to start using Docker in 2014. Docker is now consistently used in our product set and in 2016 we became an accredited member of the Docker Partner Program.
Utilising Docker helps to remove the risk of deployments. It enables developers to build applications in a way that best suits their requirements, in the languages and frameworks they choose without worry of how it will be deployed. We use Docker in our 'Infrastructure of Things' and the automation of 'Cloud Infrastructure' to run processes with assurance. Docker gives us the assurance that we are repeating and building stable production environments that can be replicated at any time.
Our ToolsStrategic Tools
ciinabox (CI in a Box) pronounced 'ci in a box', is a standardised and automated implementation. Using cloudformation and chef cookbooks, a standard “ciinabox” tools environment can be deployed within a client's AWS development account. The deployment of ciinabox requires very little configuration, and very little time.
Jenkins is an open source automation server which enables developers around the world to reliably build, test, and deploy their software.
We use Chef every single day. It is a fundamental tool in everything we do from scripting new environments to maintaining upgrades and patches.
As part of our tool stack, we use New Relic to perform part of the performance monitoring we report on. New Relic provides a quick look into the application bottlenecks.
Possibly the best on the market. Icinga has enabled us to create a completely scalable monitoring system that is distributed across eight regions in the world. We never go down
